I am completely traumatised at the moment. My beautiful machine is very ill and my dealer (1.1/2 hours away) cannot fit me in for two weeks. It started with threads breaking, then needle jammed in material, I decided to very gingerly take off the covers and look for broken threads and could not see anything. When I turned it on again it came up with A malfunction occurred. Turn machine off then on again. I keep getting the same message with (I think) the letters TM PG showing. Does anyone know if I am in diabolical trouble or not, as two weeks is a long time to wait for a diagnosis.

You could ask help from this Yahoo 's group. It is only 4000 D or Elegante's owners. They are very nice.

I am so very sorry your machine is sick!!! There is no worse feeling than to know something is wrong, and not know exactly what it is (hope that makes sense). I hope that it will be better real soon!!

Thank you all for your condolences, does me and my machine good to know that someone cares. As for the group above, I do belong to this and sent a message on Friday, but something seems to be wrong with the site as I have not been receiving the usual emails and checking the site out there does not seem to have been any movement on it for a few days. My message that I sent is not appearing either.

Thank you all for your support in my hour of need,

Val.

I feel your pain. I've never babied a machine the way I baby my 4000D and I feel like she's one of my kids!! I hope it's a simple fix that won't keep her far from you for too long.

I had something like that happen to my 4000D! Thread would break, or say it wasn't threaded right, then it jammed! Got it to work again and then it did it again! I thought I had really messed it up! Wheel won't turn, took it in to my dealer, was going for class that afternoon. It turned out it had lint or a thread caught somewhere! So hopefully that is your problem. :D My dealer is very close and he had it fixed in less than a day.

I have the Innovis/Ellegante forum in my "Favorites" and have copied it here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Innovis4000D-Ellegante/

It's slightly different than the one you used before. Hope this helps you get through to the group and someone can help you get your machine well soon.

Aussiegal: I had the same problem with my 4000D, in fact, I just got it back from my dealer a few days ago. They had to replace a bushing in my machine. I bought mine @ 7 mos ago, and this was the second time it happened to me. The first time, they just swapped the machine head because I had not had the machine but a few weeks. I can't help but wonder about the future, when it's technically out of warranty. I wish I had been a little less impulsive when buying this machine. Like others have mentioned here, I certainly have to baby it. It makes me hestitant to try new things because I keep wondering if it will cause something else to happen. I am dying to work with metallic threads, but keep running into difficulties. I, too, feel your pain. Good luck!

Aussiegirl,
I had the problem a short time ago with my Brother PC8500. The needle jammed and broke a couple of times, along with thread breaking often. I carefully removed the metal cover from over the bobbin area. To the right of the bobbin holder, a mass of lint had accumulated and formed a tight wad compressed to the side of the bobbin holder. Cautiously, I took tweezers, loosened and removed this wad, then replaced the metal cover. I resumed stitching and have not had any furrther problems with threads breaking or needles jamming. It actually stitches better, so the lint buildup had apparently been there for quite some time.
Moral to my story is: I need to do regular lint checking on my my machine. I'm over zealous with my embroidering; don't want to stop stitching long enough to do clean house (OR my machine)!!! LOL
Hope you get your machine running well soon!
Angel :P :P :P

I know how you feel! My thread jammed a couple of days ago, we cleaned out the bobbin area, started it again, and then it stopped, all the lights flashing and then would do nothing! (AND IT IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD)

We drove 1 1/2 hours today to put it in the shop, and they told me it would be at least 2 weeks! I WAS SHOCKED! That is the reason I drove all that way, I thought it would be faster! NOT! Some people say they get there's back in a couple of days! THAT IS WHAT I WAS EXPECTING!

It is very lonely around here without Futie!

Hope you get yours fixed soon! GOOD LUCK!
